Bill Curbishley (Producer)
Bill Curbishley started his career in the music business at Track Records, managing bands as diverse as The Crazy World of Arthur
Brown, Thunderclap Newman, Marc Bolan and of course, The Who.
Track Records dissolved in 1974, and Curbishley set up his own management company, Trinifold, which then handled The Who
exclusively. It was during the end of Track that the film version of Tommy was made. His involvement with the group led to
producing Quadrophenia and the prison movie McVicar, starring Roger Daltrey.
Trinifold soon expanded to manage other groups such as the heavy metal icons Judas Priest, and the ex-lead singer of Led
Zeppelin, Robert Plant. It was during a solo tour of Robert Plant's that it was agreed that the singer would try to write some
new songs, the direct result of which was the birth of Plant as a recording and hugely successful touring entity. UB40 were added
to Trinifold's roster in 2004, as was up-and-coming singer-songwiter Rachel Fuller.
All these artists continue to be active in all aspects of their careers. The Who toured the Great Britain extensively last year
to sellout crowds and have just completed a highly successful tour of the United States. Robert Plant has a highly successful new
album, Mighty Rearranger, and is in the midst of a worldwide tour. Judas Priest have reformed with original singer Rob Halford and
are also touring the world.
Curbishley is now in embarking on more film producing, with films such as The
Railway Man. A film about the life of Keith Moon
will be made soon, with Roger Daltrey co-producing.
