Nigel Sinclair (Producer)
In 2005 Sinclair produced the definitive documentary on Bob Dylan, No Direction Home, directed by Martin Scorsese, in which Dylan participated for the very first time in an exclusive film biography, granting his first full-length interview in more than two decades. The eagerly anticipated film chronicles Dylan's explosive arrival on the folk music scene in New York City 1961 through his near-fatal motorcycle accident in Woodstock in 1966. In 2002 Sinclair produced, with Jeff Rosen, Bob Dylan's Masked and Anonymous, directed by Larry Charles and starring Bob Dylan, Jeff Bridges, Penelope Cruz, John Goodman, Jessica Lange, and Luke Wilson. In addition, Sinclair executive produced the worldwide smash hit Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, starring Arnold Schwarzenneger, as well as the Academy Award winning Adaptation., starring Nicolas Cage. In 2001 Sinclair executive produced two of the year's number one films in the U.S. - The Wedding Planner, starring Jennifer Lopez, and K-PAX, starring Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges. Other recent films in which Sinclair executive produced include Iris, starring Dame Judi Dench, the Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated The Quiet American, starring Michael Caine, the Academy Award nominated Hilary and Jackie, starring Emily Watson, K-19: The Widowmaker, starring Harrison Ford, Enigma, starring Kate Winslet, and Sliding Doors, starring Gwyneth Paltrow. Sinclair attended Cambridge University in the U.K., and earned a Master of Law from Columbia University in New York. He practiced law initially in England and subsequently in Los Angeles until 1996. An avid guitar collector, Sinclair can be heard playing on the live version of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run," which appears on Roger Daltrey's Moonlighting album. |
